Delhi to Leh Ladakh by bus in 30 Hours - Timings Route and Fare

Delhi-Leh bus service resumed after 21 months

After almost two years of gap due to Covid 19 Pandemic and Snowfall, the Delhi Leh Ladakh bus service resumed in July 2021. The travellers can now enjoy one of the most adventurous and longest journeys through Himalayas. The Interstate bus services were resumed by Himachal Pradesh Government recently.

The bus fare is kept very low for 30 hours journey from Delhi to Leh Ladakh via Manali and Atal Tunnel. The bus will cover a distance of around 1030 Kms and cross some of the dangerous passes including Baralacha Pass (16052 ft), Nakeela Pass (15,540 ft), Taglangla Pass (17582 ft), Lachulung Pass (16,616 ft), before reaching Leh (11,500 ft).

“The route is challenging but our drivers are best.” Said Mangal Chand Manepa, HRTC regional Manager at Keylong.

The Delhi-Leh Bus service continues till September after which various passes on the route see snowfall. The Bus service is expected to improve the tourist influx in the valley.

As of now the RT PCR report was still mandatory to enter Ladakh and tourists should carry the report to avoid undue hassles.

The bus service between Killar and Chamba through the Sach Pass was also resumed in July. Also the electric bus service is plying smoothly between Manali and Keylong through Atal tunnel for the past couple of weeks.
