Only 500 visitors will be allowed to visit Triund and only 100 persons will be given permission to stay

Keep the Hills and Mountains Clean

Image result for triund trek

Every human being love nature and enjoy watching the snow clad mountains and hills. No matter in which part of the world you are, you will love to enjoy your summer vacations in the mountains and hill stations.

Himachal Pradesh is one of the most visited states in India for its breathtaking and enchanting hills. People from all parts of the country and world visit Himachal Pradesh.

Dharamshala Mcleodganj, Shimla, Manali, Kasauli, Solan, Chail, Palampur and many other cities are visited by millions of people from all over the world. These places are also under threat from the environmental hazards caused by human beings themselves.

The population is increasing and the hills are cut to build infrastructure, roads and houses. The deforestation is causing increase in the temperature and melting of snow very fast. The residents of the state and the tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh and other Hill Stations must think of our coming generations. The next generation should not be kept devoid of the natural beauty that the hills have.

Heavy footfall of visitors is taking a heavy toll on Triund, one of the most popular trekking spots in Himachal Pradesh

Unable to handle tourists’ pressure, Triund is losing sheen and its water sources are getting polluted

Parveen Kumar, divisional forest officer, said they have reports that huge number of tourists are reaching this place, even more than its capacity.

“We are going to restrict the numbers as there are complaints that heavy footfall of people is taking toll on water sources and natural beauty of the area. The tourist flow has increased manifolds,” he said.

One can reach Triund after trekking 8 kms from Dharamkot area near McLeodganj. This spot is most popular among youths working in Delhi, Chandigarh and Gurgaon.

How we can help protect the Hills and Mountains

People should avoid using plastic bags. Plastic bags are banned in Himachal and if you are carrying Plastic bags you may be fined by the authorities.

If you are a tourist and have brough the plastic bags from your house please do not dispose off in the open.

The government though have banned plastic bags in Himachal but could not do anything about the Potato Chips and other snacks items which come in plastic. Never throw them in the open in the hills. You will find lot of dust bins in the hills so use them.

While on a walk or treking please do not pluck or destroy the small plants. Government of Himachal has planted thousands of Pines and Deodars and it takes almost 20 years for one pine tree to grow. Do not interfere with the nature.

The only source of water in the hills is snow in the upper region. Hilly regions will always have water shortage. Wherever you may be, in the hotel or outside please do not waste water.

Initiatives to clean Hills

Many local organisations, environment lovers and villagers have come forward now to make the people aware about the clealiness of the hills and to save the hills. Example of one such successfull initiative to save the environment is CUDP (Clean Upper Dharamshala Project).

CUPD is an undertaking by the Tibetan Settlement Office of Dharamshala. With a pioneering waste management system, and a substantial volunteer effort, they are changing people's views on how they handle their waste.

CUPD has taken the initiative to keep Mcleodganj Dharamshala and upper hills clean and free from the garbage. They run three garbage trucks, a paper-recycling workshop, composting sites, educational programs, segregation centres, a "Green Shop" and has 37 employees.

Mountain Cleaners at work to clean the mountains in Upper Dharamshala and Mcleodganj

You will be surprised to see that group of foriegners are working from morning till evening collecting the garbage thrown the people on their way from Mcleodganj to Triund. These people call themselves as mountain cleaners and have kept dust bins on the way and requests the tourists to put the waste material in the bins and not to throw in the open.

Last year I went for trekking on the mountains from Mcleodganj to Triund. During my trek of 8-9 Kms I saw these nature lovers picking the garbage and waste thrown by the tourists. I felt so embarrassed and thought that these mountain lovers have come all the way from europe to clean the mountains and we people hardly think of saving our land where we are living or visiting. Hats off to these people.

It was ridiculous that despite all their efforts and requests we still have a certain class of people who will never think seriously about saving the nature. They will still throw the waste in the open and will not pay heed to any request. It was really shameful that on the way there were small shops where these Mountain Cleaners have kept the dust bins but people still resorting to their old habit of throwing the waste anywhere.

It is still not too late and we need to get our acts together and do something for the mother nature.

I belong to Himachal Pradesh and being an avid traveler myself this is written with my experience in planning Himachal tours for many guests like you. I am sure the below details will definitely help you in deciding every aspect of your tour.

Getting Ready For Your Dream Dharamshala Mcleodganj Trip

This is a Practical Guide to Help You Plan Your Himachal Holidays
The first thing that you need to decide before you do any research is the duration of your holidays. How many days you are going to spend in a Mcleodganj Dharamshala depending on your leaves and budget constraints? This is very important as you can decide on places of visit as per your budget and leave focusing only on a specific search on the internet.

Whether it’s a short or long vacation, the first thing you need to freeze is your arrival and departure dates.

Once your dates are finalized, make sure you book your tickets Dharamshala. Mcleodganj is located in Upper Dharamshala and most of the buses from all parts of Delhi Punjab Haryana, Jammu will go up to ISBT Dharamshala.

There are number of frequent buses available from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj including shares taxis. Bus Tickets to Dharamshala can be booked online at the official website of HRTC only. Volvo AC non AC deluxe and semi deluxe buses are available from ISBT Delhi, ISBT Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Jammu, Dehradun and other cities.

Spice Jet and Air India offer daily flights from IGI Delhi to Gaggal Airport Dharamshala. Check for various low Air fare offers to Dharamshala from Delhi. You can get a flight for as low as Rupees 3000 from Delhi Dharamshala during the offer period from the airline.

The nearest Broad Guage Railway station from Dharamshala is Pathankot and Chakki Bank. Both stations are part of Pathankot. Dharamshala is about 80 kms from Pathankot and frequent buses are available from Pathankot to Dharamshala. You can also get a shared Taxi from outside station at a reasonable price. However if you want to enjoy the Toy Train you can travel from Pathankot till Kangra Mandir from where Dharamshala is about 25 Kms. The trains take around 5 hours to cover this distance but the bus will take only 3 hours to reach Dharamshala from Pathankot.

Tourists from various cities of Punjab like Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ferozpur, Patiala,Pathankot, Gurdaspur, etc, Chandigarh, Jammu, Ambala, can reach Dharamshala by bus. This is the best option because the distance is less and you do not have to change transport after getting down from train. You will reach there in less than 7 hours.

From Delhi you have all the three options, Bus Air and Train. Buses take around 10-12 hours to reach Dharamshala from Delhi. Generally the road condition is good in this route so you can also drive down. However it is recommended that you go by bus train or air and then hire a taxi if you are not familiar with the driving in hilly areas.

Tea gardens Tea Factory in Narghota – Very few people know that there are huge Tea gardens located on the outskirts of Dharamshala. TREKKING CAMPING GLAMPING ADVENTURE SPORTS IN MCLEODGANJ DHARAMSHALA

Camping in Triund, Indru Nag, Barot, Trekking Points near Mcleodganj Dharamshala, Zipline Paragliding
I know many people who want to enjoy the real beauty of the mountains during their vacations. People want to go to secluded and serene places which are not crowded but are truly enchanting. The irony is that not many people are able to fulfill their wish owing to lack of information and other reasons.

In most of the websites of travel agencies you would find the information of only those places which are famous. It is also easy for the travel agencies and the people in this business to show you these places. They have their own business interests and ultimately the loss is of the tourist who though enjoys these places but is denied with the real feel and pleasure.
My idea of travel is to explore the places which are really beautiful and less explored. I firmly believe that there are millions of people out there who feel the same.

Today I am going to write and tell you about the places in and around Dharamshala which are must visit if you intend to get the real heavenly feel of the place. Call any travel agent or a hotel and ask them about the places they would include in the itinerary and your package. You will find most of them offering similar packages. I would not blame them because they are also of the opinion that these are the only best places here in this region. Only 10 percent would have a different itinerary because they understand the need of those who are looking for the real enjoyment.

While holidaying in Dharamshala the major and popular tourist destinations are Mcleodganj where you can visit the Budhist Monastery and Dalai Lama Temple and residence, Bhagsu Nag Temple, Bhagsu Water Fall, Dharamkot Village, Naddi Village, Dal Lake, Tibetan Children’s Village, Church, etc. There are other places like Indru Nag Temple, Kangra Museum, Norbulingka, Tapoban Ashram, Chamunda Devi Temple, Kangra Temple etc.

All these places are beautiful and you would definitely enjoy visiting here. In fact your travel agent or cab driver is also right in taking you to these places. They are doing their job as per their and customers requirement.

As a stranger the tourists are unaware of many spots where they would have enjoyed more. The travel agent would not want to go there as they are secluded places and his can would have to travel more so less profit.
Generally what the cab drivers do in most of the places all over India? They will take you to the points which are located close to each other. The distance covered is less and they are being paid for the entire day by the customers.

For example if you are in Mcleodganj and hire a cab for a full day, you could only visit, Bhagsu Nag Temple, Bhagsu water fall, Naddi Village and Dal Lake and Church. The total distance covered would not be more than 16 Kms but you have paid fare for the entire day.

My suggestion is just walk down to Bhagsu Nag from Mcleodganj. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Kangra Valley and Dhauladhars on the way and you would not even know when you reached Bhagsu Nag.

There are many people who would love to touch the snowline and would be tempted to trek to the Himalayas.

If you have the passion and the courage and the stamina then do not miss 7 kms trek to Triund. Book a forest rest house stay there overnight and then go further and touch the Dhauladhar Range and Glaciers at ILAKA.

Don’t worry if you do not have time but still want to go on trekking at some beautiful place. You can go to GALU which is 3-4 kms trek from Dharamkot. You would find yourself so close to the nature. Serene GAJ River, Himalayan water fall at GALU is a treat to the eyes. Take a dip at the natural Pool of GAJJ River and rejuvenate your heart and soul. One day trek with your family at GALU Himalayan Water Fall is must visit.
Not many travel operators would suggest or take you to this place but do add it in your itinerary without a second thought.

If you are avid lover of the nature and would not mind spending 3-4 days in trekking then KARERI LAKE is the best option for you. Located near Kareri Village this is a stunning lake amidst serene nature. Book the forest rest house at Forest office Dharamshala before you plan to Kareri or Triund

Dharamshala Tea gardens and Dharamshala Tea are world famous but many people are not aware of this. You can take a walk from Dharamshala to the MANN Tea factory located in Narghota Village. On the way you would be mesmerized with the lush green and vast tea gardens on both sides of the road.

During the British Raj this place was known as Sanitarium and people used to come here to get the fresh air. This holds true even today. From Chilgari to Narghota you will find only tea gardens and lush green jungles with no inhabitant. If you have any query feel free to write to us at info@organicholidays.in
